I initially set up 'Made by Emily' to channel my passion for Food. It was a personal blog documenting recipes, reviews of restaurants and new foods that I had discovered through travelling (my second passion)! After hosting many dinner parties, completing internships in the food industry and undertaking Leith's Essential Cooking Course, I began cooking for small events from Afternoon Tea Birthdays to Dinner Parties for friends and family. As I have grown, I have had the opportunity to cater larger dinner parties and events whilst also freelancing at a local retreat.
I pride myself in delicious tasting food that is as locally sourced as possible, through supporting local farmers, butchers and fish mongers. My veg allotment and herb garden are integral to my cooking allowing me to produce seasonal dishes for events. Not only is my food tasty, it also looks great! My eye for detail in presentation and overall aesthetic decoration is fundamental because it is true what they say ... ' you eat with your eyes'!
